Oscar Pistorius's lawyers will try to loosen the strict rules on the Paralympic champion's bail conditions, which includes surrendering his passport.

Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius is reportedly trying to lift the strict rules on his bail conditions.

The 26-year-old, who has been charged with the premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, who was shot dead at his home in Pretoria, South Africa through a bathroom door on Valentine's Day.

The double amputee was granted bail following a four-day hearing on conditions including the surrendering of his guns and passport, as well as not being permitted to leave Pretoria without notifying the police.

It is understood that Pistorius's lawyers will plea to the High Court to loosen the restrictions on his conditions, according to The Sun.

Pistorius, who denies premeditated murder, will appear in court in June.
