A number of items from the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies have reportedly been dumped in storage and left to 'rot'.

A host of props from the opening ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been left to 'rot' outside a warehouse.

The giant bell, which signalled the start of the Olympics opening ceremony and was rung by Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins, is one of many items left in the docklands.

The bus that comedian Russell Brand rode in on in the show has also been dumped at the site, along with the pirate ship that carried Rihanna into the Olympic Stadium.

Trucker Chris Dawber told The Sun: "They helped make the Olympics, now they're rotting. What about the legacy everyone went on about?"

Reports have stated that the London 2012 Organising Committee has claimed the items will be kept in storage until they are returned to their owners, sold or recycled.
