Former AC Milan star Gennaro Gattuso told journalists to "fuck off" while holding a press conference as manager of Greek club OFI Crete.

The 36-year-old hit back at criticism about his team, who have recorded two victories and two defeats in the Greek Super League so far this season.

"I no like the excuse that maybe the players don't play with heart because [the club] no pay salary. Fuck off - this no true," the Daily Mail translates Gattuso as saying.

The former midfielder took charge of the team, who currently sit eighth in the table, at the beginning of the campaign.
