Tom Daley to pursue TV career once diving career is over

Tom Daley admits that he wants to "explore" a career in television once he retires from diving.

Olympic diver Tom Daley has revealed that he wants to pursue a career in television when he retires from professional sport.

The 20-year-old has already had experience working in the industry following his mentor role on ITV celebrity diving show Splash!.

However, for the time being, Daley is focused on competing for Team England at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and preparing for the Rio Olympics in two years' time.

"I've been lucky to be able to try my hand at TV shows that all fitted around my diving schedule, which has been great," Daley told Attitude magazine. "It's a career I definitely want to explore once I've retired from diving. I think Ant and Dec present on some great shows and one day I'd love to be involved in something similar."

When asked if the sportsman has any intentions of signing up for reality shows, such as Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, Daley said: "Not whilst I'm still diving, I just don't have the time."

Last month, Daley scored a personal best of 577.20, and a silver medal, in the World Series in Mexico.
