Bolivia Football Federation boss in corruption arrest

Prosecutors in Bolivia confirm that the head of the country's football federation is arrested over allegations of corruption.

Carlos Chavez, the head of the Bolivian Football Federation, has been arrested as part of an investigation into corruption at FIFA.

According to the country's public prosecutor, Chavez is accused of "alleged corruption in the management of resources" while in charge of the national association.

Chavez's arrest is the latest development in an ongoing scandal that has engulfed football's global governing body.

The FBI recently issued indictments against several officials, including figures involved in the running of South American confederation COMNEBOL.

Earlier this week, Swiss authorities confirmed that a FIFA official, believed to be FIFA vice-president Jeffrey Webb, had been extradited to the United States to face charges of corruption.
