Boris Becker relaunches Pumas worn in 1985 Wimbledon triumph

Boris Becker relaunches the Puma trainers that he wore when he made history by winning Wimbledon at 17 years of age.

Boris Becker has relaunched the Puma trainers that he wore when he won his first Wimbledon title at just 17 years of age.

The 47-year-old, who now works as part of Novak Djokovic's coaching team, marked the relaunch at an event in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open.

"It was one of the first shoes with the high-top, above the ankle," Becker told the Courier Mail.

"It was very new then obviously with my style of play aggressive - I put a lot of pressure on my ankles, so I needed protection from a shoe. Even now I wear them pretty much every day."

Becker's triumph in 1985 was the first time that a German had won the men's singles Wimbledon title.
