British band Aurora reportedly win £2,000 after putting money on Grand National winner Auroras Encore.

British band Aurora reportedly picked up £2,000 in winnings after backing 66-1 outsider Auroras Encore at the Grand National.

The five-piece decided to put their money on the horse, who rode to victory at Aintree, and encouraged their friends and family to do the same.

The band discovered that they had struck lucky when the mother of drummer Joshua Moran informed them while they were rehearsing for a gig, according to the Daily Star.

An accumulation of £20,000 is thought to have been taken from the bookmakers following bets from friends, family and fans.
