On-loan Montpellier HSC striker Mbaye Niang will reportedly be questioned by police regarding a recent car crash involving his red Ferrari.

The vehicle smashed into a tree near to Montpellier's training ground last weekend, but Niang is not believed to have been in the car.

According to Reuters, Niang has been detained by police today as they try to discover who was driving the car and if the 19-year-old has a valid licence.

Niang, who moved to the Ligue 1 outfit on loan from AC Milan last month, is said to have claimed on Twitter that he was unharmed, but later deleted the tweet.
