Artist creates handwritten portrait of Sir Alex Ferguson

An artist creates a handwritten portrait of former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson from the names of all of the players who played for him at the club.

An artist has created a portrait of Sir Alex Ferguson from the names of the 218 players that featured for Manchester United during the Scot's time as manager.

The handwritten portrait was produced by Annemarie Wright to commemorate his 26-year reign in charge of the side, which came to an end when he retired last summer.

She told The Metro: "I was inspired to do this because my dad is a huge Manchester United fan, so I have been brought up with the Red Devils. The piece took three weeks to complete and is all in my own handwriting."
