Paul Scholes scores trademark long-range goal in charity match

Paul Scholes lights up a charity match in Hong Kong by picking out the bottom corner with one of his trademark strikes 35 yards from goal.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes was able to roll back the years by smashing home a 35-yard belter during a charity match.

The 40-year-old was playing for a Premier League XI when he was picked out in some space, before smashing the ball first time into the bottom corner to the delight of the supporters in Hong Kong.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler was also on the scoresheet in the thrilling contest, as the side made up of ex-Premier League pros - including Emmanuel Petit, Claude Makelele, Robert Pires and Darren Anderton - edged out their opponents 5-4.

Scholes retired from playing in 2013 following a senior career spanning 20 years at Old Trafford.
