Actor and comedian Matt Lucas has mocked the Scottish accent of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson during his TV show.

The Little Britain star, who is an Arsenal fan, labelled the successful manager an "old sod" during the new series of The Matt Lucas Awards after the Scotsman was nominated as having the least comprehensible UK accent by Citizen Khan actor Adil Ray.

"Let's have a listen to the old incomprehensible old sod in action!" The Sun quotes Lucas as saying.

Father Ted actor Ardal O'Hanlon, who was a guest on the show, added: "I don't think it matters that he is incomprehensible as his face changes from orange to red to purple with the threat level."

Meanwhile, Ferguson is preparing his side to face Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 clash tomorrow night.
