Manchester United to expand brand to US market

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward reveals that the club want to expand their brand to the US market.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has revealed that the club are considering expanding their brand to the US market.

The Premier League champions announced yesterday revenue figures of £363.2m ending in June 30, 2013, and now the club are considering expanding their brand even further.

"The US market is under penetrated," The Independent quotes Woodward as saying. "It is a very big media market, the most developed sports market in the world, but we don't want to deals that are quick and wrong, that tie us up and we regret afterwards."

The North-West outfit are expecting to rake in revenue in excess of £420m by this time next year.
