Former lead guitarist of The Smiths Johnny Marr will headline Manchester City's season launch party 'City Live' on August 14.
The co-songwriter of the legendary band, who is a City supporter, will perform a live set at Manchester Central to mark the start of the new season.
As well as Marr, fans will be joined by the Premier League-winning team, including new signings Bacary Sagna and Fernando, while comedian Jason Manford will host the event.
"Like Manchester, City has always been a club steeped in music," said Marr. "Going right back to Maine Road, there was always a couple of musicians or bands from across the city in the stands. It's the same today at the Etihad.
"City fans just know how to have a good time, so to play to a packed Manchester Central, will not only be a great party to mark the start of this season, but also a special moment for me personally."
Miles Kane performed at the event last year, before Manuel Pellegrini's side went on to be crowned English champions for the second time in three seasons.
