Liverpool submit Anfield redevelopment plans

Liverpool submits redevelopment plans to the city council to increase the capacity of Anfield to around 59,000.

Liverpool have submitted redevelopment plans to the city council to increase the capacity of Anfield to just under 59,000.

The club finalised documents outlining their proposal to expand the Main Stand, as well as plans to expand the Anfield Road end.

If the plans are granted, the capacity of the new Main Stand would rise by 8,500, while the Anfield Road end would add an additional 4,8000 seats - taking the overall capacity to 58,800.

Liverpool also want to incorporate the club crest into the proposed Main Stand's exterior elevation, and plan to install a new home for the Hillsborough memorial.
