A 10-year-old Leeds United fan is reportedly accused of being a racist after painting his skin to look like El-Hadji Diouf.

A Leeds United supporter has reportedly been accused of being racist after he dressed himself up to look like his favourite player El-Hadji Diouf.

The 10-year-old boy posted photos of himself on Twitter wearing a Leeds kit with his skin covered in dark paint and his hair replicating Diouf's mohawk.

The photos are believed to have sparked anger on the social network site, with users accusing the child of being racist, which is thought to have prompted the young fan's father to close down his Twitter account, according to the Daily Mail.

The boy's father has been quoted as saying on Twitter: "I want to apologise if [my son] dressing up has caused offence. He asked to dress up as Diouf so we let him for a bit of fun.

"We completely underestimated the response it would get. Hes only 10 and likes the banter so lay off please thanks for positive comments."

The youngster met Diouf outside of Elland Road ahead of Leeds' 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on New Year's Day.
