BBC, ITV reveal World Cup group stage TV schedule

The UK television schedule for next year's World Cup in Brazil is revealed.

The UK television schedule for next year's World Cup in Brazil has been revealed, with ITV showing the opening game of the tournament as well as two of England's three group games.

ITV will show the opener between hosts Brazil and Croatia in Sao Paulo before England's final two group games against Uruguay and Costa Rica.

BBC, meanwhile, will show England's highly anticipated Group D opener against Italy in Manaus as well as the Three Lions' first knockout match if they progress through the group.

The first pick of the quarter-finals goes to ITV, while BBC have first choice for the two semi-finals. Both broadcasters will show the final in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.
