TJ Ward in court on misdemeanour charges

Denver Broncos safety TJ Ward appears in court on misdemeanour charges after allegedly throwing a glass mug at a bartender in a strip club.

Denver Broncos safety TJ Ward has appeared in court on misdemeanour charges after allegedly throwing a glass mug at a bartender in a strip club.

The alleged incident took place in the early hours of May 10 after Ward had been told that he couldn't bring his own drink into the club.

Ward was set a court date for June 23 and could also face a fine from the NFL should they deem the incident worthy of further punishment.

The court documents from today state that CCTV footage shows Ward pick up "a glass mug that is sitting on the bar and tosses/throws the glass mug at her. The male then walks away."

The 27-year-old joined the Broncos from the Cleveland Browns on a four-year deal this off-season having enjoyed arguably the finest campaign of his career last year, reaching his first Pro Bowl.
