Supporter arrested for 'trying to punch Crystal Palace's eagle'

A 34-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of swinging a punch at Crystal Palace's bald eagle mascot, Kayla.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to punch Crystal Palace's bald eagle mascot, reports the Croydon Advertiser.

The incident allegedly occurred during Palace's Capital One Cup victory over South London rivals Charlton Athletic two months ago at Selhurst Park.

A 34-year-old from Welling was arrested this morning for allegedly swinging a punch at Kayla the bald eagle, an attraction at Palace home games.

The man remains in custody at a South London police station on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage.
