Frank Lampard awarded an OBE in Queen's Birthday Honours list

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is awarded an OBE for his services to football as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Frank Lampard has been awarded an OBE as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The former Chelsea and England midfielder has received the honour for his services to football as he made over 100 appearances for the Three Lions.

Lampard also won a number of trophies in his time with the Blues, including three Premier League titles and the Champions League, as well as being the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

"I am delighted to receive this huge honour," Lampard said in a statement.

"I feel very fortunate to have had such a long and fulfilling career in football. This is an extremely proud moment for myself and my family."

The 36-year-old will join up with New York City FC in the near future to finish the MLS season with the club.
