Mikhail Prokhorov considers Brooklyn Nets buyout

Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov plans to buy out the franchise's minority owner.

Brooklyn Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov is reportedly considering buying up all of minority owner Bruce Ratner's shares.

Prokhorov currently owns 80% of the team, and 45% of the Barclays Center, but will now move to acquire 100% percent ownership of both.

"We can confirm that Onexim Sports and Entertainment is looking at various ways to restructure debt owed to the company in connection with its US assets," Prokhorov's spokesperson said in a statement.

The Russian businessman previously considered selling his stake in the franchise, but later changed his mind and insisted that he was committed to the team.
