Supporter releases chicken onto pitch at Ewood Park

Ewood Chicken
A chicken is released onto the pitch at Ewood Park during Blackburn Rovers' draw with Burnley on Sunday.

A chicken halted play during the East Lancashire derby between Blackburn Rovers and Burnley on Sunday.

The fowl was released onto the pitch by a supporter during Blackburn's 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.

The chicken, which is thought to have been aimed at Blackburn's owners Venky's, who specialise in chicken meat processing, was chased around by a steward before play resumed.

A similar incident happened at Ewood Park before the club was relegated from the Premier League last season.
