Arsenal's Jack Wilshere: 'David Beckham inspired me to get tattoos'

Jack Wilshere reveals that he became interested in tattoos because of David Beckham, who now has 33 designs.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that former England captain David Beckham is the reason behind his interest in tattoos.

The ex-Manchester United star, who is well known for his image and body art, had a new tattoo inked on his chest, bringing his total up to 33.

While Wilshere has claimed that he first got his inspiration from Beckham, the 21-year-old has stated that all of his designs are meaningful.

"I first saw them on David Beckham, and I thought 'I like them'," Wilshere told Esquire. "The best tattoos in football are probably on Beckham, I think he was like me, started really little and now look at him, he's covered.

"All my tattoos are mostly to do with my family. I've got one for my mum, my dad, my son, I've got another daughter on the way so I'm going to have another one."

Wilshere is expected to start for England in tonight's World Cup qualifier against Moldova.
