Leeds United fans 'most vocal on Twitter out of all 92 English clubs'

Leeds United supporters are the most vocal on Twitter, according to a new study.

Leeds United supporters interact the most on Twitter out of all 92 professional football clubs in England, according to a new study.

Social scores network CrowdScores found that each Leeds fan sent an average of 7.7 tweets over the last six months, while Middlesbrough supporters were second in the list with 6.6 tweets per fan.

In terms of the Premier League, Everton fans were the most vocal with an average of 6.3 tweets, while Arsenal were behind with 4.7.

The study was carried out by comparing the number of Twitter followers each football club had against the number of mentions of their handle.

"When you combine Leeds United's rich heritage with the various goings-on during the last season, it may not seem too surprising that their fans are vocal on Twitter, but to see them top all 92 teams demonstrates just how passionate they are," the Daily Mail quotes CrowdScores chief executive David Walker as saying.

The study also found that Sheffield United supporters were the most positive as they posted nine times as many upbeat messages than negative remarks.
