An Ajax supporter reportedly suffers head injuries after falling from a stand while celebrating his side's goals against Barcelona.

An Ajax supporter has reportedly suffered serious head injuries after falling from a stand during last night's Champions League encounter against Barcelona.

The man fell around five metres from a section behind the goal while celebrating during his side's 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Amsterdam Arena.

Ajax wrote on Twitter: "After 39 minutes in block 126 [south 1st ring] from row 1 a supporter fell in the moat. He was badly injured and taken to hospital."

The result of the match means that Ajax can still qualify for the last 16 if they beat AC Milan in their final group match.
