Barry Middleton: 'England don't need any motivating ahead of hockey showdown'

England's Barry Middleton insists that his side are ready for tomorrow's men's hockey bronze-medal final following a disappointing semi-final defeat earlier today.

Barry Middleton has insisted that England's men's hockey team do not need any motivating ahead of their Commonwealth Games bronze-medal final.

A dominant display from Australia earlier today ended England's hopes of winning gold, but they have a chance of claiming bronze when they take on either New Zealand or India at the National Hockey Centre tomorrow.

"We have come here to win things, now we can't win the whole thing so you reassess and say we need to win the bronze medal," Middleton told reporters.

"I think it's pretty simple now, some games you find are hard to pick yourself up for but I think there have been a lot tougher games to get myself up for than a bronze medal."

Australia have won gold at every Games since the sports induction back in 1998.
