Rio Olympics not concerning Welsh gymnast Laura Halford yet

Welsh rhythmic gymnast Laura Halford is yet to cast her mind forward and think about competing at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Laura Halford has not yet thought about competing at the 2016 Olympics, despite her double-medal haul on the first two days of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Welsh rhythmic gymnast followed up her silver in the team event yesterday with bronze in the individual all-around final this afternoon.

She is Britain's number one rhythmic gymnast after her success at the national championships earlier this year, but is yet to think about the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in two years' time.

When asked if she would be spearheading the GB team in Rio, Halford told Sports Mole: "Maybe! I just want to focus on right now and then the World Championships in September so I hope to be selected for that."

The 18-year-old has a chance at three more medals tomorrow morning in the finals of the hoop, ball and ribbon disciplines.
