GB women finish sixth in World Gymnastics Championship

Great Britain's women finish sixth in the team event at the World Gymnastics Championships in Nanning, China.

Great Britain's women have finished sixth in the team final at the World Gymnastics Championship in Nanning, China.

The team, made up of Hannah Whelan, Becky Downie, Claudia Fragapane, Gabby Jupp, Kelly Simm and Ruby Harrold, failed to get on the podium.

"Overall we can be really pleased," said Downie. "Of course we would like to have been in the medals but we are definitely happy and proud to have a team that is looking so strong and that is progressing so well.

"Britain's women's gymnastics team finishes sixth in the team final at the World Championship in Nanning. US took gold, with China in second and Russia third."

The United States took gold, China nabbed silver and Russia scooped bronze.
