England take gold, silver in gymnastics
Team England's Nile Wilson and compatriot James Hall claim gold and silver respectively in the individual artistic gymnastics final at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England have won gold and silver in the men's individual artistic gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games, with Nile Wilson beating compatriot James Hall to the top of the podium.

Wilson's performances on the rings, parallel bars and horizontal bar took him away from the competition on the Gold Coast, with the latter discipline seeing him awarded a score of 15.100.

The 22-year-old won gold on the horizontal bar in Glasgow four years ago and dominated the apparatus again to take him almost a full point clear of teammate Hall, who claimed silver.

Hall, who alongside Wilson was part of the quintet which defended their team title on day one of competition, excelled on the vault to narrowly pip Marois Georgiou of Cyprus to second place.

Hall claimed silver by just 0.225 over the six apparatuses as the Cypriot was forced to settle for bronze, with Scotland's Frank Baines finishing in fourth place.

Wilson is now a four-time Commonwealth champion, while Hall has now won a gold and silver at his first Commonwealth Games.
