Europe's Ian Poulter tells fans to "buckle up" ahead of the second day's play at the Ryder Cup.

European Ryder Cup player Ian Poulter has told fans to "buckle up" for the second day of the Ryder Cup.

The Englishman, 36, is playing with Justin Rose in the morning foursomes against Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson. Both pairs won their respective matches yesterday.

Following yesterday's two sessions, Poulter tweeted: "5-3 not what we wanted but no disaster, need the board blue in the am. Justin Rose and I vs. Bubba Watson & Webb Simpson. Buckle up folks."

Poulter also paid tribute to the performance of Ryder Cup rookie Nicolas Colsaerts, who won Europe's only point in the afternoon fourballs yesterday.

"What a performance from our rookie Colsaerts, 8 birdies & an Eagle, nerves of steel. Loving the passion. Pleasure to watch."

Europe entered the second day 5-3 down to the Americans.
