Raphael Jacquelin leads Volvo Golf Champions

France Raphael Jacquelin leads the Volvo Golf Champions tournament after an opening round of 67 in Durban.

Raphael Jacquelin has opened up a one-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard at the Volvo Golf Champions tournament in Durban.

The world number 120 recorded five birdies during a faultless round of 67 to finish Thursday's play ahead of home favourite Louis Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen, who is looking for an injury-free 2014, dropped just one shot to remain ahead of Darren Clarke and Victor Dubuisson, who reached the clubhouse on three-under-par.

Colin Montgomerie ended the day on two-under, but there was disappointment for the experienced Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thomas Bjorn, who sit at the bottom of the leaderboard on four-over and seven-over respectively.
