After carding a 69 on the opening day, the Australian continued his impressive form by carding a five-under-par 67 on Friday to edge ahead of his rivals on eight-under.

The highlight of Bowditch's round was a near-impossible shot on the 12th as he found the hole with an inch-perfect effort from over 80 yards.

Chad Collins tied the best round of the day to shoot a 66 on his way to second place, alongside fellow American Andrew Loupe.

First-round leaders Pat Perez and Danny Lee had very different experiences on Friday as Perez stayed in contention with a round of one-under-par, while Lee managed to miss the cut after going round the course in 83 shots.
