Tiger Woods says that he hit the ball the best he has in years during his final round at Muirfield Village.

Tiger Woods has spoken of his pride at equalling Jack Nicklaus's 73 PGA Tour wins with his victory in the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.

Only Sam Sneead, on 82, remains in front of the 36-year-old, who notched his second title of the year at Muirfield Village.

"It's been pretty nice and to do it at age 36, it's not too shabby," Woods told Sky Sports News. "I've been very proud what I've done so far in my career and I feel I've still got a lot of good years ahead of me."

Woods said that his final-round performance was the best that he has played in years, an ominous sign for his competitors ahead of the US Open on June 14.

"I hit the ball great," added Woods. "That's what was so exciting, I didn't really miss a golf shot.

"I hit the ball just as good as I have in years. That was fun when I needed it the most."

Woods will be aiming for his 15th victory in a Major championship at the Olympic Club, San Francisco.
