Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen records the third European Tour title of his career as the 25-year-old wins the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.

Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen claimed victory in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews this evening to secure his third European Tour title.

Olesen took a three-shot lead into the final day of the tournament in Scotland, and he was able to hang on to claim the crown with a final-day offering of a one-under-par 71 to finish on 18 under come the close of play.

The Dane's final score saw him edge second-placed American Brooks Koepka by two shots, while Chris Stroud finished a shot further back in third.

Away from Olesen's win, one of the standout performances of the day came from England's Chris Wood, who broke through to finish tied fourth after a memorable final round that saw him notch a seven-under 65.
