Europe's Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal reveals that he will delay naming his wildcard picks for the event.

Europe's Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal has revealed that he will not name his wildcard selections until August 27.

The Spaniard was due to announce his choices a day earlier following the conclusion of Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

However, Olazabal has now decided to delay his decision due to the Barclays event in the USA.

"There's going to be a change," Olazabal told reporters. "I think the scenario last time was a delicate one, obviously for the captain and also for the players playing in the States.

"So we are going to wait until whatever happens in the States before we make the decision.

"I think it would be fair for anybody that is playing in the States that might be on the verge of winning that tournament."

In 2010 Justin Rose and Paul Casey found out that they had not made the team while competing in the FedEx Cup.
