England's Luke Donald remains in the hunt to regain the world number one spot after he finished three shots off the lead after round three of the Transitions Championship.

The 34-year-old needs to win the tournament at Palm Harbor, Florida, in order to replace Rory McIlroy at the top of the world rankings.

Donald posted a one-under round of 70 to leave him on eight-under with American Chez Reavie at the end of day three.

South Africa's Retief Goosen carded a round of 65 to give him a lead of 11-under with America's Jim Furyk.

South Korean Sang-Moon Bae and USA's Jason Dufner are a shot further back, while Padraig Harrington has slipped back to seven-under following his career-best opening round of 61.
