Ian Poulter frustrated after "rollercoaster" round three

Ian Poulter expresses his frustrated at being seven shots off the lead at the Masters after a "rollercoaster" third round leaves him on two under par.

Ian Poulter has expressed his frustrated at being seven shots off the lead at the Masters after a "rollercoaster" third round saw him finish on two-under par.

The 36-year-old Englishman, who had begun with two level-par 72s in Augusta, started day three with four birdies, four bogeys and a single par.

Following the eventful front nine, he tidied up his game and birdied the two par fives (13 and 15) to card a two-under 70.

"The front nine was a little rollercoaster ride," said Poulter. "Having six birdies and only shooting two under par is a little bit frustrating to be honest. But I am on the board and I guess tomorrow by the back nine hopefully I can be in a bright position.

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow. We just have to wait and see which holes they let us be aggressive on and the other holes you just have to be careful.

"I will have to play well for sure and make birdies when I get my chances."

Poulter is currently ranked 24th in the PGA Rankings.
