Lee Westwood full of praise for Jamie Donaldson after securing Europe point

Lee Westwood says that Ryder Cup rookie Jamie Donaldson has taken to the tournament like a "duck to water" after the pair secured a foursomes point for Europe.

Europe's Lee Westwood has praised Ryder Cup rookie Jamie Donaldson for quickly finding his feet at Gleneagles after the pair secured a foursomes point for the defending champions.

The duo, who were not selected by captain Paul McGinley for this morning's fourballs, earned a 2-up victory over the USA's Jim Furyk and Matt Kuchar.

"I love it," Westwood told Sky Sports News. "I have as much fun playing for myself as a I do watching someone take it like a duck to water. He played great out there, he hardly ever missed a shot."

Europe are currently leading 3.5-2.5 with two matches yet to finish.
