Williams appoint Pat Symonds as chief technical officer

Williams announce that they have appointed Pat Symonds as the team's new chief technical officer.

Williams have announced the appointment of Pat Symonds as the team's new chief technical officer.

The 60-year-old will take on his new role next month, replacing Mike Coughlan, who has left the team with immediate effect.

"Williams is a team steeped in success and engineering excellence, and I'm honoured to be asked to play a role in returning the team to its rightful place at the pinnacle of Formula 1," Symonds told the team's official website.

Williams are yet to take a point from nine races so far this season.
