Pastor Maldonado focused on improving disciplinary record

Pastor Maldonado claims that he will try to improve his disciplinary record in Formula 1 after being punished again at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Pastor Maldonado has admitted that he will take steps to avoid the stewards' office for the remainder of the current Formula 1 season.

The Williams driver has been punished by the disciplinary panel on seven occasions this season but claims that he is trying to find a way to avoid future problems in races.

Maldonado said: "I'm being penalised quite a lot at the moment. We need to try and do something different to be away from the stewards. I'll do my best and this is the solution - to be away from them.

"Sometimes I've been involved in small incidents and I didn't go to the stewards, so I will try to be away from everything. But at the same time we'll try to push and I'll try to try my best."

The Venezuelan was given a 10-place penalty for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix after jumping the start in Sunday's race in Belgium.
