Nico Rosberg: 'Lewis Hamilton not worth $200m'

Lewis Hamilton is not worth his reported $200m salary demand, according to teammate Nico Rosberg.

Nico Rosberg has suggested that Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton is not worth the $200m (£136.7m) salary he is reportedly demanding.

The Briton is yet to agree a contract extension with the constructors' champions and is believed to be holding out for a lucrative pay rise.

However, Rosberg has claimed that while Hamilton deserves a sizeable wage, $200m may be too much.

He told El Mundo: "I think he deserves a lot of money, but I wouldn't give him 200 million!"

If Hamilton were to be paid that figure, it would make the two-time world champion a higher-paid employee than Mercedes chairman Dieter Zetsche.
