Jonathan Neale: 'No reason to change McLaren drivers'

Jonathan Neale suggests that McLaren could retain Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso for 2016.

McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale has hinted that the struggling constructor could retain Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button for 2016.

Button appeared to be in danger of losing his drive with the Woking-based team last winter before he was chosen to partner the Spaniard this season.

While McLaren have had difficulties in finding performance so far in 2015, Neale has suggested that Button and Alonso could stay put.

He told Sky Sports News: "Who knows what we'll do next year.

"There is no internal discussion of doing anything different. My personal view is that both Fernando and Jenson have done a fantastic job for us this year. I see no reason why that would change."

Button was forced to sit out qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix due to reliability problems, and will start Sunday's race in Montreal from the back of the grid.
