Jenson Button "very happy" to stay at McLaren

Jenson Button admits that he is happy to stay at McLaren, but has not yet signed a new deal.

McLaren driver Jensen Button has insisted that he would be happy to stay with the team and sign a new contract for next season.

Button said that, while McLaren do not currently have the fastest car, it feels like the correct place for him to be.

"No, [I have not signed a new contract yet]," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "I'm very happy to stick around [though].

"It's very easy when times are tough to look elsewhere, but with McLaren having been fighting at the front for years it's definitely the wrong move to go elsewhere.

"At the end of last season we had the quickest car on the grid. We don't now but it can easily come our way again next season."

Button is currently ninth in the drivers' rankings.
