Fernando Alonso surprised by Honda chief exit

Fernando Alonso was caught by surprise by Honda's announcement of the departure of F1 chief Yasuhisa Arai on Tuesday.

Fernando Alonso has said that he was caught by surprise by Honda's announcement of the departure of Formula 1 chief Yasuhisa Arai on Tuesday.

Arai, who had been due to retire at the end of the season, lost his job following the disastrous start in 2015 to the new McLaren-Honda works collaboration.

"I heard it at noon when I was jumping in the car," said the Spaniard.

"Let's see what changes this brings with it."

Arai has been replaced by Yusuke Hasagawa.
