Jenson Button is hopeful that he can overturn his dismal run of results at the European Grand Prix this Sunday.

McLaren driver Jenson Button is determined to mirror Lewis Hamilton and get a victory this weekend as the duo prepare to compete at the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

Button has had a dismal start to the season, taking just two points from the last four races, while Hamilton clinched his first win at the Canadian Grand Prix a fortnight ago.

"I guess the first thing you do is set up the car like the other car, and that's what we'll do initially," said Button.

"There will be settings that Lewis prefers more than anybody else does because that's how he sets it up. I won't be as quick as him on those settings, but then we can work from there and find a set-up that works for me.

"I've won a race this year, won many races before and that's where I feel I should be. You do have bad races, so it becomes about pulling together and working out the reasons, and we will."

Button's performances have been a far cry from that which clinched him the Australian Grand Prix in the first race of the season.
