Red flag at Japanese Grand Prix

The Japanese Grand Prix is stopped due to adverse weather conditions and resumed under the stewardship of the safety car.

The Japanese Grand Prix has resumed after a red flag was shown following just two laps of the race.

The race got underway at the scheduled time of 7am behind the safety car, but the decision was taken by the organisers to stop the race temporarily to allow the heavy rain to cease.

25 minutes later, the safety car was back at the start of the grid again as the race got underway for the second time.

At the start of the 10th lap, the safety car pulled in to the pit lane to allow to race to resume under normal circumstances.
