Fernando Alonso believes that Ferrari have plenty to be optimistic about following victory at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso has claimed that Ferrari are "optimistic" for the rest of the season following the Spaniard's victory at the Chinese Grand Prix.

The former world champion dominated for the majority of the race and was quick to reveal his happiness with Ferrari's start to the season in the post-race press conference.

Alonso told reporters: "It was a fantastic race for us from the start. In the two races we've finished we have got second place and victory so our start of the 2013 season is very good.

"We are very optimistic for the rest of the season."

Alonso will look to continue his success at next week's Bahrain Grand Prix.
