Wolverhampton Wanderers are relegated to the Championship following a three-year stint in the top flight.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated to the Championship following their 2-0 loss to Manchester City this afternoon.

The result has left bottom of the table Wolves 11 points from safety with just three matches of the season remaining.

Relegation has rounded off a turbulent campaign for Wolves, who sacked Mick McCarthy earlier this year and replaced him with his assistant Terry Connor.

The Molineux-based club have been in the top flight since being crowned winners of the Championship in 2009.
