Karl Henry: Wolverhampton Wanderers need a "miracle"

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Karl Henry believes that his side will require a "minor miracle" to avoid relegation this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Karl Henry believes that his side will require a "minor miracle" to avoid relegation this season.

Following a 2-1 loss at Stoke City on Saturday, Terry Connor's men have lost their last six games and are six points below safety in the Premier League table.

The 29-year-old thinks that survival is still possible, but he admits that it is very unlikely.

"It will take nothing short of a minor miracle to keep us up now," Henry told TalkSPORT.

"We've got it all to do. We've got Arsenal on Wednesday and you never know, QPR beat them, turned them over the other day.

"We're a result away from getting back into it. If we perform like we did today and put the effort in, we just need that bit extra in front of goal.

"We desperately need a result and the sooner we get it then we're in with a bit of a shout. Hopefully we can get on a run and nick three or four wins but we've given ourselves a mountain to climb."

Henry made his 200th league appearance for Wolves in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in January.
