Kenny Jackett accepts Wolverhampton Wanderers defeat

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett admits that his side deserved their 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has admitted that he has no complaints with his side's 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Wolves saw their Championship playoff hopes suffer a blow last night as they were downed at the Riverside Stadium.

Jackett, who has urged his players to defend better if they want to secure a top-six finish, concedes that Boro ran out deserved winners in the end.

"We played against a ruthless Middlesbrough side, in both boxes. Again defensively we need to improve," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "Middlesbrough are very good, they have the best defensive record in the league, but we're disappointed with the goals against. We fought back and all the way to the end, but it was Boro's night."

Wolves have the chance to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they host promotion rivals Ipswich Town.
