Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town hold slender lead away to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Richard Stearman's own goal gives Ipswich a slender half-time lead away to promotion rivals Wolves in the Championship.

A Richard Stearman own goal has put Ipswich Town 1-0 up at the break away to promotion rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship.

The visitors created the first chance with just three minutes on the clock when Daryl Murphy turned in the box before shooting narrowly wide of the target.

Wolves soon grew into the game, but they struggled to make anything happen in the final third despite enjoying the majority of possession.

They were made to pay on 21 minutes as Ipswich took the lead when Stearman flicked the ball into his own net following a Teddy Bishop corner.

The hosts continued to look bereft of ideas after going behind, though they managed to work half an opening when Nouha Dicko directed his header wide. The forward was in the thick of the action again soon after, but this time his effort was blocked by Christophe Berra.

Wolves' best opportunity to bag an equaliser came five minutes before the break when Dave Edwards's volley came back off the woodwork after some unconvincing defending from Ipswich.
